Danielle believes I have natural swaddling skills. So I've decided to train for the International Infant Swaddling Championship which is being held this December in Las Vegas, Nevada. Professional swaddlers come from all over the world to compete in this three day event and the grand prize this year is $500,000 bucks. From what I hear the Swedish Team are the current World Recorder holders.
Swaddling is all about speed and control. "You control the arms and legs, you control the infant." Colton is a great baby to hone my skills on-the kid's fidgety, squirmy and really keeps you on your toes, especially at 3AM.
Danielle has me on a pretty rigorous training regime and films my practices so I can study the tape later to improve on any flaws in my routine. Now I know this may sound like I'm "tooting my own horn" here, but I would consider myself one of the Top Five swaddlers in the world. Yeah...I'm that good.
The International Infant Swaddling Championship debuts on ESPN 8 ("The Ocho"), December 10th.
