To quote Lloyd Bridges' character in AIRPLANE!, "I think I picked the wrong week to stop sniffing glue."
Or in my case, I've picked the wrong time to give up caffeine.
I switched to drinking only de-cafe coffee over a year ago, but after last night, I'm definitely switching back to the "leaded" stuff for the foreseeable future. Or at least until Colton is sleeping longer than a hour between feedings. With Danielle still recovering from her surgery, I was up all night with the little guy, helping with diaper changes. I think we only got around two and half hours of sleep total. And to make matters worse, Ridge was up at 6:30 AM right on schedule, ready to play drums and guitars. I used to be proud that Ridge has shown such an interest in music-this morning... not so much.
I've been a complete zombie all day. I've apparently forgotten how much a newborn deprives one of sleep.
The barista at Starbucks is about to become my new best friend.
