Colton is not even 24 hours old yet and I'm already wanting to age him by at least 8 years. Sitting around the hospital watching a lot of daytime TV, I keep seeing trailers for the new GI JOE movie which is coming out this weekend. The marketing campaign is working on me, because I really want to see this movie. All of the reviews I've read online say "it's the greatest movie ever for 10 year-old boys."
I'm sure it's total junk, but man I'd love to take Ridge and Colton to a movie like this when they're older-Saturday matinee with my boys, gorging ourselves on overpriced movie theater candy and sodas and then stopping by the local toy store to pick up a couple of updated GI JOE action figures. Now that's what being a father of boys is all about.
I put my army of JOES and COBRA troops through countless bloody backyard battles as a kid and I can't wait to watch my boys do the same.
Maybe Danielle will let me sneak Colton into the theater this weekend.
Careful, you don't want to age them too fast. Ben met his 2nd grade teacher yesterday and Jake was introduced to his kindergarten teacher. Do you think we should tell Jake's teacher that he can burp his ABC's???!!
